1) Live in Dorms or Greek Houses
In the first year, you probably won't party as much as any of the next three year. Instead, you are trying to find time to know your friends. You can attend some the get-togethers in the dorms with fun themes. You will be surprise how much guys are into this kind of style.
2) Go to the Parties
Parties are the best places to meet people. It is better to go to parties within the school rather than outside. You never want to meet the police with the fake ID on your hand, so beware.
3) Get to Know the Guys/Girls
I cannot stress the importance of this. Just get to know the guys or the girls or both. You can go out to eat lunches or breakfasts together. Just for fun. However, you should make the your line clear. You are friends with them, not boyfriend or girlfriend. Some people have a hard time drawing the line.
4) Get it Done with Food
I have tried this before. Cooking is the way to his or her heart. She/he will love the food you cook no matter how bad it is (well, not TOO bad. At least edible). If you cannot cook, you can buy a bunch of dishes and present it to him/her. What I mean is like buy a bowl of pasta, a cup of corn soup, and a tasty wine. You should try to buy these in different stores because buying in one store is the same as buying it at McDonald's.
